Weekly Data Report — September 7–13, 2026
This is the data edition for September 7–13, 2026. Every figure below is labeled with its as-of date and source, and every number outside the window is marked as background rather than presented as current.
Where sources or definitions disagree — as they do this week on TRON's total value locked — we show both and explain the difference instead of choosing one.
1. Stablecoin Market Cap (by Token)
| Token | Latest | 7-day change | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| USDT | $183.395B | +$80.6M (+0.04%) | ~60.1% share of total supply |
| USDC | $74.359B | +$661.6M (+0.90%) | drove 89% of the Big-3 expansion |
| DAI | $4.778B | +$0.4M (+0.01%) | flat |
| Big-3 total | $262.532B | +$742.7M (+0.28%) | 3.45x the prior week's +$215.5M |
| Total stablecoin supply | $305.2B | +0.38% (7d) | Sep 13 read; par-pegged float $304.4B (Sep 12) |
Source note: token-level figures are the seven-day comparison read from DeFiLlama over the window ending September 9, 2026 (NeoDrop). The total-supply row uses a separate aggregate read of $305.2B (+0.38% over seven days), and StablecoinBeat's par-pegged universe definition gives $304.4B on September 12 — the small gap is universe definition, not a data conflict. Issuance resumed after last week's flat print, and it was USDC-led: 89% of the Big-3 net expansion.
2. USDT Supply by Chain
| Chain | USDT balance | 7-day change | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRON | $92.272B | +$504.2M | largest single-chain increase; entire positive delta of USDT |
| Ethereum | $73.443B | −$272.3M | multi-week rebalancing continues |
| BSC | $9.182B | +$35.6K | flat |
| Solana | $2.765B | −$69.5M | contracting despite USDC inflow |
| Arbitrum | $819.5M | −$22.6M | contracting |
| Polygon | $771.2M | +$9.9M | flat |
| Avalanche | $341.9M | −$0.3M | flat |
| Hyperliquid L1 | $85.4M | −$23.4M | small-base erosion |
| Other chains | $3.715B | −$45.4M | broad contraction |
3. USDC Supply by Chain (The Other Half of the Rotation)
| Chain | USDC 7-day change | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Solana | +$487.9M | largest USDC destination; second-largest chain inflow of any stablecoin |
| Ethereum | −$184.2M | bleeding both major stablecoins |
| All chains (total) | +$661.6M | 89% of the Big-3 net expansion |
The two rotation maps together read cleanly: new USDT chose TRON, new USDC chose Solana, and Ethereum — still the largest or second-largest pool of both — shrank on both. TRON's $504.2M USDT inflow and Solana's $487.9M USDC inflow are the two largest chain-level movements in the data, and both are demand for settlement capacity rather than price speculation.
4. TRON Stablecoin Supply
| Metric | Value | As of | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| USDT on TRON (DeFiLlama) | $92.272B | Sep 9 | +$504.2M w/w; largest chain increase |
| USDT on TRON (TRONSCAN / official) | >$94B | Sep 9–11 releases | methodology differs from DeFiLlama |
| 7-day stablecoin supply growth | largest of any network | Sep 9 | second consecutive week in the lead |
| USDT transfer volume, YTD | ~$5.6 trillion | Sep 9 | Canary Capital release, citing network data |
| USDT on TRON, monthly transfer value | $311.5B | Aug 2026 | 74.1% of tracked stablecoin value (Visa dashboard, Sep 1) |
5. Accounts & Activity
| Metric | Value | As of | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total accounts | 403,459,271 | Sep 10–11 | +175,346 in 24h; ~1M net new per week |
| TRX holders | 242.3M (~60.1%) | Sep 10–11 | share of total accounts |
| Active accounts (24h) | 4.28M | Sep 10–11 | −2.71% d/d; near the 3.88M flagged Sep 1 |
| Lifetime transactions | >15B | Sep 11 releases | TRONSCAN |
| TRON total value locked (TRONSCAN basis) | >$28B | Sep 9–11 releases | includes staked TRX; see note |
| TRON DeFi-app TVL (DeFiLlama basis) | ~$5.2B | early Sep | DeFi applications only |
Definition note on TVL: press releases this week cite TRON total value locked above $28 billion on the TRONSCAN definition, which includes staked and delegated TRX across the network. DeFiLlama's DeFi-application TVL for TRON is roughly $5.2 billion. Both are correct within their own definitions; the order-of-magnitude gap is staked TRX, not double counting. We label each figure rather than average them.
6. Transfer Volume & Fee Abstraction
| Metric | Value | As of | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Average daily transfer volume | >$23B | Sep 11 | ~$8.4T annualized run-rate (market analysis of TRON DAO data) |
| Weekly TRON transfer volume | n/a | — | no weekly print found inside the window |
| GasFree cumulative volume | $132.6B | Sep 1 | last published figure; 7.70M+ transactions |
The weekly TRON transfer-volume figure stays n/a: no weekly report covering September 7–13 was available at publication, and we do not carry forward stale values. The best in-window reference is the >$23B average daily transfer volume cited with the September 11 MetaMask announcement — an annualized run-rate near $8.4 trillion — but it is a point estimate, not a weekly series.
7. TRON Energy Market
| Benchmark | Value | TRX | USD equiv. (TRX $0.3394) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cheapest 1h rental, 65k energy | 22 SUN | 1.43 TRX | ~$0.49 |
| Typical 1h rental, 65k energy | 35–38 SUN | 2.28–2.47 TRX | ~$0.77–0.84 |
| TronBid P2P live offers | 27–40 SUN | 1.76–2.60 TRX (65k, 15min–1h) | orderbook quotes; unfilled at read |
| TR.ENERGY 1h package (65,150 energy) | ~43 SUN equiv. (2.81 TRX) | 2.81 TRX | ~$0.95 |
| Network burn price | 100 SUN | 6.50 TRX | ~$2.21 |
| 1-day rental, 65k energy (indicative) | ~105 SUN equiv. | 6.83 TRX | ~$2.32 |
The cheapest observed 1-hour quote rose from 14 SUN to 22 SUN this week — a 57% lift in the floor, reversing several weeks of easing. USD equivalents are computed at the September 13 TRX close of $0.3394 (65,000 energy x SUN price / 1,000,000 = TRX cost). One honesty note: the live TronScan.energy comparison table still displays a USD column implying a TRX price near $0.10 (1.43 TRX shown as ~$0.14); against the actual September 13 close that cost is ~$0.49. We recompute from SUN prices rather than copy published USD columns.
8. USDT Transfer Cost by Chain (Reference)
| Chain | Typical cost per USDT transfer | Note |
|---|---|---|
| TRON (rented energy, cheapest 22 SUN) | ~$0.49 | cheapest 1h quote observed this week |
| TRON (rented energy, typical) | ~$0.77–0.84 | 35–38 SUN 1h quotes |
| TRON (burning TRX, 65k) | ~$2.21 (6.50 TRX) | existing-holder recipient |
| TRON (burning TRX, 131k) | ~$4.45 (13.10 TRX) | new-holder recipient |
| Ethereum (ERC-20) | $1–$10+ | gas-dependent |
| Solana | <$0.10 | low-cost rail |
| BNB Chain (BEP-20) | <$0.10 | cheap EVM rail |
9. TRX Price, the TRXS ETF and Fees
| Metric | Value | As of | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRX price | $0.3394 (close) | Sep 13 | +1.3% w/w; weekly range $0.3338–0.3411 |
| TRX market cap | ~$32.2B (rank 8) | Sep 9 | $0.3389 on the CMC snapshot |
| Canary Staked TRX ETF (TRXS) | $50.37M net assets | Sep 10 | inception Sep 8; ≥90% staked; 1.10% fee; Cboe |
| TRX staked | 45.7B | Q2 end | −0.9% q/q; latest available (Q3 report due Oct) |
| Average TRON transaction cost | $0.65 | Q2 2026 | Messari |
What Happened Last Week
Stablecoin issuance resumed at 3.45 times the prior week's pace, and it was USDC-led (+$661.6M, 89% of the Big-3 expansion) while USDT growth concentrated almost entirely on TRON (+$504.2M of its +$80.6M net came from the chain; the rest of the world was net negative). Ethereum's stablecoin float shrank on both assets. TRON's user base compounded past 403.46M accounts with 4.28M active in 24 hours, and the network landed two institutional access products: the first US staked TRX ETF and Ethena's bridged USDe. Meanwhile the macro tape deteriorated — hot CPI pushed September hike odds toward 90%, BTC fell about 3%, and Bitcoin ETFs logged their largest weekly outflow in ten weeks — yet TRX rose 1.3%, decoupling upward from the market it usually follows.
Fastest-Growing Indicators
- Big-3 supply: +$742.7M in seven days — 3.45x the prior week's expansion (Sep 9).
- USDC: +$661.6M, driving 89% of net issuance, with Solana absorbing $487.9M of it (Sep 9).
- USDT on TRON: +$504.2M to $92.272B — the largest single-chain increase in the data (Sep 9).
- Energy quote floor: 14 SUN → 22 SUN (+57%), the first demand-led lift after weeks of easing (Sep 7–13).
- TRXS ETF: $50.37M net assets within two days of inception, ≥90% of holdings staked (Sep 10).
- TRX: +1.3% on the week against a −3% BTC tape (Sep 13).
Declining or Soft Indicators
- USDT on Ethereum: −$272.3M on the week, extending a multi-week contraction (Sep 9).
- USDC on Ethereum: −$184.2M — the largest pool is bleeding both major stablecoins (Sep 9).
- Active accounts: 4.28M in 24h, −2.71% day-over-day (Sep 10–11).
- Bitcoin ETFs: −$462.7M for the week, the largest withdrawal in ten weeks (Sep 7–13).
- USDC versus its April high: still ~7% below $79.75B (Sep 10).
Anomalies & Watch Items
- Dual basis on USDT-on-TRON persists: $92.272B (DeFiLlama, Sep 9) versus >$94B (TRONSCAN / official releases, Sep 9–11) — a counting-methodology gap we label rather than reconcile.
- Dual basis on TRON TVL: >$28B (TRONSCAN basis, including staked TRX) versus ~$5.2B (DeFiLlama, DeFi apps only) — definition, not conflict.
- Stale USD columns in live price tables: TronScan.energy's comparison table still implies a TRX price near $0.10; all USD figures in this report are recomputed at $0.3394.
- Energy floor lifted 57% in one week after five weeks of easing — whether 22 SUN holds is now a live test of demand-led pricing.
- Weekly TRON transfer volume remains n/a; the >$23B daily average cited September 11 is a reference point, not a series.
Methodology & Caveats
Token and chain balances come from DeFiLlama snapshots over the seven days ending September 9, 2026 (NeoDrop); TRON-native account figures come from TRONSCAN read September 10–11, 2026; ETF figures come from the Canary Capital release and fund page. Energy quotes are live marketplace prices observed during the window — the cheapest and typical ranges, not a time-weighted average. USD conversions use the September 13 TRX close of $0.3394 and are computed as 65,000 energy x SUN price / 1,000,000 x spot. Weekly transfer volume is reported as n/a when no window-appropriate report exists. Where two credible sources or definitions disagree, we publish both rather than average them.
